ALISON FAIRLEYB.Arch (Hons) RMIT Universityalison.fairley@rmit.edu.au From participating in the first ever SIAL design studio Digital Mockups as a mere undergraduate, to her more recent roles as Research Assistant, Alison has been involved in many projects at SIAL. Her work as part of a team in Digital Mockups lead to the Reading Room project with Julian Canterbury. Combining both Parametric Architecture using the program CATIA, and state of the art physical modeling techniques the project has appeared in many publications, such as the Surface Consciousness edition of AD. Presented at exhibitions in London, Toronto, Boston and most recently at the Architectural Biennial in Beijing. Alison also worked as a Research Assistant on a CRC funded project looking at Parametric Design in the early stages of design development last year. Currently, she is project coordinating the ARC funded Homo Faber project to be exhibited at the Melbourne Museum opening on the 31st of May. Alison is assisting in the completion of models, organising and designing the exhibition of this work and the attached symposium. As a lecturer in Digital Communications through the Landscape Architecture and Interior Design departments, Alison focuses on the use of programs for design, not just presentation. She is passionate about ruled surfaces, bold risky graphic layouts, talking about herself in third person, and excessive use of colour in just about everything. | ||||||||||||||||||
