Dinesh Kumar has actively contributed to science and technology and this is demonstrated by the following: Patent: Kumar is the inventor for patented technology, ‘Medical Implant System’, patent number PP5732 (Australia), PCT/AU99/0726 (International). Patent: Dinesh is the inventor for Acoustic monitoring system (PP# 2004) Patent: Dinesh is the inventor for Video monitoring system (PP# 2004) Research Team Leader: Kumar was the research team leader for ‘Dreams’, a very large industrial funded project. Keynote invited speaker: Kumar has been a keynote-invited speaker for six national and international conferences and workshops. Supervision of Research Students: Kumar is currently supervising 9 research students and have supervised 3 students in the last five years (completions). President of the Society for Medical and Biological Engineers (SMBE): Kumar was the president of the SMBE from 1999 to 2003.
