PROJECT DESCRIPTION | DIGITAL VISCERA

The theoretical investigations of her research seek to engage embodied knowing within digital technologies through the development of techniques visually analogous with the mirroring of materiality.  The research draws on empathic theories of form and space; while additionally serving as a critique on the role of production in enfolding meaning specific to materiality.

Four projects fund this investigation:

@nimatus :: the creation of an interactive, digital presence which mimics fleshy responses in answer to spectatorial engagement

[un]site :: a dual screen digital installation which explores the architecture of mirroring within its' construction; narrative + relational dynamics

labyrinth :: a 15 metre digital print installation which has been repeatedly exhibited [most recently as part of the YELLOW BRICK ROAD exhibition held at the Greens-Wood Gallery from 20 October - 4 November 2007]
 +
.gargoyle. :: an animated virtual gargoyle; "activated" through various surface projections

All the above works have been realized in conjunction with several visual experiments, which have lead to the development of a series of virtual textures; for which an upcoming collaboration is planned with fashion designer Anastasia La Fey combining those textures with her design work.
