Beyond Media 2003 comprises an international congress, "Media and new sense of place in architecture", talks shows and exhibitions.

SIAL, together with the School of Architecture at the University of Auckland, was invited to participate in the SPOT ON SCHOOLS exhibition, devoted to some of the most distinguished schools of architecture in the world. The exhibit, curated by Paola Giaconia, offers a first survey of courses that explore the topic of communication in architecture and, in particular, the influence that new media plays in this field.

The SIAL exhibit features work undertaken in two of the SIAL undergraduate design studios, composed into a five metre long by one and a half metre tall printed exhibition piece, and data-projected environments:

The Memory Games studio, run in Semester 2 2002 (Mark Burry, Lawrence Harvey, Gregory More and Jules Moloney, SIAL Visiting Fellow and Senior Lecturer in Architecture at the University of Auckland).

The SYNTHETICscapes studio run in Semester 1 2003 (Gregory More and Sue-Anne Ware)

Exhibition design and production: Gregory More, Ed Carter, Devon Osborne, JooBee Gan, Adam Jackson, Dominique Hall, Hai Troung, Cimone McIntosh, Foo Chi Sung (Fooch), Magaret Woods, Jules Moloney.
