The City of Melbourne has invited a project to focus on sound and sites-of-respite in the City. They invite exploration and possibility rather than concrete outcomes. The collaboration between Landscape, Industrial Design and SIAL Sound Studios will expose students to a range of disciplines, ways of thinking, techniques, technologies and workspaces in the belief that working outside of ones discipline exposes assumptions and unknown possibilities.

The studio will be set up as a laboratory for investigation into sound and the city, through a highly structured series of events, that will define the non-contact periods of teaching where student learning will be self-directed, as opposed a linear process of knowledge accumulation.
