The FabPod, a SIAL research project for an acoustically tuned meeting room, has been announced as a finalist in the Manufacturing and High-Tech Design category of this year’s Australian Innovation Challenge. The construction system of the Pod, comprised of 180 geometrically and materially unique ‘cells’, explores the potentials for mass-customised manufacturing to address construction. More

SIAL involved in the curation and design & fabrication of a new exhibition at RMIT University Gallery. Congratulations to SIAL members Lawrence Harvey and Nicholas Williams as part of the team developing this project.
SIAL received 2 major linkage grants in the latest round of ARC funding. Linkage grants are awarded to academic institutions that partner with industry to work on collaborative research projects. Both these projects will offer PhD scholarship positions at SIAL to be announced later in 2013. Congratulations to the team members and partner organisations involved
