MDIT Designing Information Environments

As designers how do we create meaningful & poetic informational experiences that synthesise process, space and digital technology?

This design specialisation focuses on two concepts: the internet of space, and the space of the internet. The former advances the use of spatial metaphors in the development of digital collection spaces (musuems, libraries, archives etc) through shared interactive videogame environments. The later, engages designers to leverage the innovation of the internet – interactive websites, visualisations, APIs, etc – to promote new modes of design practice.

More information coming soon about the first SIAL MDIT studio intensive. We are excited to have Carlo Ratti (of MIT http://senseable.mit.edu/) and City of Melbourne (City Lab, City Design) working with MDIT students.
